Community & Population Health: Office of Health Equity

As a Community and Population Health Intern at VUMC's Office of Health Equity, I gained data analysis, qualitative research, and grant management skills in the context of community health. Through literature review of best practices at peer institutions, I generated solutions to streamline the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Implementation Strategy (IS) process for 3 Tennessee counties. I conducted supplemental data analysis for the 2019 CHNA in Excel and edited the final CHNA/IS documents. I also engaged community and academic stakeholders in key informant interviews to evaluate the effectiveness of a cross-institutional health equity workgroup. Finally, I assisted with program management and grant review for the Community Health Improvement Mini-Grant Program.
