Under the mentorship of Dr. Bill Heerman, I led a study investigating social support and breastfeeding outcomes. This included literature review, research question development, statistical analysis planning, and result interpretation. I disseminated my research findings through an oral abstract presentation at Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting, earning honorable mention (Top 30 Best Abstracts) at VUMC's GME Research Forum, and publishing a first-author manuscript (DOI: 10.1016/j.amepre.2022.10.002).
As a member of the Heerman Lab, I also contributed to weekly team meetings and performed data collection for a multi-site randomized controlled trial aiming to prevent pediatric obesity. Additionally, I conducted data collection and intervention sessions for a randomized controlled trial addressing disparities in pediatric obesity among the Latino community in Nashville.
